Jefferson County businesses participate in the County’s economic development activities through membership in the Jefferson County Job Development Corporation (JCJDC).
Becoming a member of the JCJDC means that one can affect the direction and leadership of this organization, which is guided by a volunteer Board representing both the Jefferson County business community and local government. Being a member of the JCJDC gives the business executive a sense of ownership in the community as well as providing opportunities for direct input and first-hand knowledge as to the decisions being made about marketing, development financing, and business services.
To put it simply, when companies decide to relocate or to grow here, jobs are created and that impacts the business community in a positive way. Our approach to economic development is designed to lead the organization by utilizing and expanding effective partnerships with…the Local Business Community…Washington…Albany…and local government. As a result of these partnerships, we believe the economic development initiatives of the JCJDC are more focused and pro-active.
Members are invited to attend quarterly and annual meetings, focus groups and special events as a way of networking with community leaders to provide our partners with first hand knowledge of what is going on in Jefferson County.
