The Jefferson County Job Development Corporation (JCJDC) announced on Friday,
January 25, 2008 the winners of the two Business Awards being given by the
agency at its Annual Membership meeting, held in Watertown. Each Award winner
was presented with a $1000 check.

The New Business Venture Award Winner Is:
Dust-Busterz Cleaning Services, Watertown, NY - Beverly Welch,
Owner
Ms. Welch began the company as a residential cleaning service in 2004.
Dust-Busterz provides cleaning crews for offices, homes, housing
developments and newly constructed homes. In 2005, Ms. Welch was
awarded a cleaning contract by Actus Lend Lease for the Crescent Woods
construction project on Fort Drum. Dust-Busterz was also awarded the
contract for the on-post housing "move-out" cleaning. The company also
has commercial and residential customers off post.
Ms. Welch was recognized as the NYS Small Business Development Center
Female Entrepreneur of the Year in 2007. Dust-Busterz started out with
two employees and currently employs 10.

The Business of Excellence Award Winner Is:
Aubertine and Currier, Architects, Engineers & Land Surveyors, PLLC,
Watertown, NY - Michael Aubertine, RA, and Patrick Currier, RA,
Managing Partners
The firm is a full service design firm with in-house services that
include architectural design, civil/site/structural engineering,
electrical, mechanical and plumbing design, construction management
and land surveying to both commercial and residential customers.
Architect Michael Aubertine opened a professional office in January
2000 in Watertown. The steady growth of the company provided the
opportunity for expansion in October 2000, Patrick Currier, R.A.
joined the company. In January 2001, Aubertine and Currier Architects
was established. In 2007, the company expanded further to include
additional professional services and added "Engineers and Land
Surveyors, PLLC" to their title. The company also named three new
partners to their firm, located at 516 Bradley St. in Watertown.
Aubertine and Currier have been involved in the design of over $130
million in construction projects throughout the area. The firm began
with 4 full-time employees. The firm currently employs eighteen full
and part-time employees.

agency. I would also like to give recognition to the others who were
nominated. In our eyes, they are all winners and because of their
entrepreneurial spirit and success Jefferson County wins as well."
The New Business Venture Award recognizes a company established and
located in Jefferson County who have been operating for at least two
years but not more than four years and who have shown by specific
examples that their business plan is being implemented and effective
in the growth of their business. Other nominees for this award were
CAD & Facilities Services (CFS), Inc., located in Depauville and
Proverbial Women located in Watertown.

The Business of Excellence Award recognizes a company established and
located in Jefferson County who has been in business for at least four
years but no more than seven years with at least $1,000,000 in sales
during the past year as well as an increase in the number of employees
they have hired since their beginning. Other nominees for this award:
